An online fundraiser has been set up to support the families of two Indian students who died in a crash in Co Carlow yesterday.
Bhargav Chitturi and Suresh Cherukuri, who were both in their 20s, were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in struck a tree on the N80 in Rathoe, Co Carlow.
Two other passengers, a man and a woman also aged in their 20s, were taken to St Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Both Bhargav Chitturi and Suresh Cherukuri had been students at South East Technical University Carlow.
The online fundraising page aims to support their families to help cover funeral costs and other financial challenges.
The fundraiser has raised over €34,000 so far.
Gardaí said they were liaising with SETU and were attempting to provide support to the victim's families in India.
Tributes were paid to the two students following the crash which took place on a road which has a history of incidents.
A friend and colleague of Mr Chiturri, Adrian Brennan, paid tribute to the young man.
"He was a lovely man and a good friend," Mr Brennan said.
Independent Councillor Will Paton highlighted the history of crashes on the road.
"Unfortunately two more young men have lost their lives ... and what makes it even worse is this is literally a year to the day when three young people - two men and a young lady - lost their lives at the exact same spot."
