Gardaí are investigating after a woman's body was discovered on farmland in Co Roscommon.
The area near Clonark has been sealed off for technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
A house in Athlone has also been sealed pending forensic examination.
The body of the woman has since been removed from the farmland.
Flowers have been placed at the scene where the discovery was made this afternoon.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
Yesterday, gardaí recovered a car which has since been technically examined.
Local gardaí are being assisted by detectives from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
It is understood family have been notified, however, formal identification has yet to take place.
