A motorcyclist in his 30s has died in a single-vehicle crash in Longford in the early hours of this morning.

The crash occurred at around 1.15am at Kilnashee, Drumlish.

The R198, Longford to Drumlish road, remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene, with diversions in place.

The man's death brings the number of fatalities on Irish roads so far this year to 118.
