Three people have been arrested as part of an investigation into 'cash trapping' devices being used on ATMs in Dublin and Meath.
It is understood that around €90,000 in cash withdrawals were blocked at various locations in the past week.
Gardaí identified a number of incidents where ATMs were fitted with 'cash trapping' devices, which block users from receiving their money after making a withdrawal from the ATM.
Yesterday, three men, aged in their 20s and 40s, were arrested by gardaí attached to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau, and are being held at a garda station in Dublin.
A quantity of cash and a number of 'cash trapping' devices were also seized.
