Man further remanded in Dundalk assault case

A man accused of assaulting three women in Dundalk, Co Louth last month has been further remanded in custody.

Nicholas Muckian, 47, appeared before Dundalk District Court by video link.

Court presenter Sergeant Letitia McConnell said that directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions were still awaited and there was a possibility there would be further charges.

Mr Muckian, with an address at Glenwood in Dundalk, is charged with three counts of assault causing harm at the same location on Friday 3 May.

He is further charged with one count of unlawfully intimidating another person with a hatchet.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded Mr Muckian in custody to appear again before Dundalk District Court on 3 July.
