Gardaí in Wexford are investigating two separate road crashes last night, one of which has left a motorcyclist in a critical condition.
The motorcycle incident happened at about 11.30pm at the Redshire Road junction on the R733 outside Wexford town.
The male driver of the motorcycle, aged in his 30s, was serious injured in a collision and brought to Wexford General Hospital for treatment. His condition is today described as critical.
A technical examination is to be carried out by garda forensic collision investigators and the road involved is currently closed, with local diversions in place.
Earlier in the night, three people were brought to hospital for treatment to a range of injuries after a three-car collision on the N25 at Drinagh.
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of a traffic offence. Another man travelling in the same car as that man is helping gardaí with their enquiries.
That scene is also closed pending a forensic examination by garda investigators, with diversions in place.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing into both collisions.
