An 80-year-old woman has died following a road crash in Co Longford.
Emergency services were called to the collision on the N4 at Lisnagrish near Edgeworthstown, at around 4.40pm yesterday afternoon.
The woman, who was travelling alone, was treated at the scene before being taken to the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, where she was later pronounced dead.
No other vehicles were involved.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who was travelling on the N4 at Lisnagrish yesterday afternoon to contact Granard Garda station on 043 668 7660, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
