Two people have died in separate road crashes in Wexford and Kilkenny today.

A man in his 60s has died after a crash shortly before 7am at Duffry Gate in Enniscorthy.

Gardaí said the car driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

His body was removed to Waterford University Hospital (WUH), where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

In Castlecolumb another man, in his 40s, was killed after a single vehicle crash shortly after 4pm.

His body was later removed to the mortuary in WUH and a technical examination was carried out at the scene.

Two children also suffered injuries after a collision involving a Jeep and an e-scooter on the Old Tramore Rd in Waterford at around 3pm.

One of the children's injuries were described as serious by a garda spokesperson.

Both were taken to hospital in Waterford and are receiving treatment.

The road has been closed as gardaí are conducting a forensic examination.

All three incidents are now the subject of a witness appeal and anyone with any information is asked to contact their local garda station.
