Two men were hospitalised after an alleged assault in Co Kilkenny this morning.
One man was seriously injured and the other suffered non-life threatening injuries after the alleged attack in the Ardboy area just outside Kilkenny at around 7am.
The man who suffered serious injuries, who is in his 20s, was taken to St Luke's Hospital while the other man, who is also in his 20s, was taken to Waterford University Hospital.
No arrests have been made at this time and a garda spokesperson has appealed for witnesses.
Anyone with information, or who was in the Ardboy area between 6.45am and 7.20am and may have witnessed anything, is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 500.
