Cyclist seriously injured in Dundalk hit-and-run

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Dundalk, Co Louth, this week.

The male cyclist, in his 20s, fell from his bicycle on the Castletown Road and was struck by a passing vehicle.

The car failed to remain at the scene.

The incident happened at around 1.50pm on Monday afternoon.

Gardaí say the man was seriously injured during the collision and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who was on the Castletown Road in Dundalk and the surrounding areas on Monday afternoon between 1.45pm and 2.30pm and noticed any unusual activity to contact them.
