A man has been seriously injured after an assault in Dundalk last night.
Gardaí attended the scene outside a residence on the Castletown Road in Dundalk, Co Louth at around 8.30pm.
A man, aged in his mid 30s, was taken from the scene by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with serious injuries.
The man has since been transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.
Gardaí say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
