Woman in 70s killed in Co Louth house fire

A woman in her 70s has died in a house fire in Co Louth.

Emergency services and gardaí attended the scene at a house on Bachelors Walk in Dundalk at about 11pm last night.

Four units from the fire service attended the blaze, including two crews from Dundalk, one from Ardee and one from Dunleer.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene has now been preserved for a technical examination to take place.

Fire Service personnel also inspected adjacent houses and prevented fire spread where it was occurring.

It is understood the fire is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
