Two men are being treated in hospital following a suspected gas explosion at a house in Co Wexford.
The incident happened at about 7.30am in the Clone area of Ferns when a fire broke out, causing extensive damage to a residential property.
One man in his 40s was brought to Wexford General Hospital with serious burn injuries, while a man in his 90s, understood to be his father, is also being treated in hospital for shock and minor physical injuries.
Gardaí say the injuries sustained by the two men are not life-threatening.
It is understood that the younger man was attempting to light a stove when an explosion took place, causing a fire which has significantly damaged the house.
Emergency services were at the scene throughout the morning, including two units of the fire service based in Enniscorthy who have been working to bring the fire under control.
Local diversions were put in place for a number of hours while the incident was being dealt with, but the roads affected have reopened.
