A man in his 30s has died following a collision between a bus and a car in Co Wicklow.
The incident happened shortly before 10pm last night on on the southbound carriageway of the M11 between junctions 16 and 17 at Rathnew.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. No other serious injuries were reported.
It is understood gardaí had received reports that a car may have been travelling in the wrong direction on the road around the time of the collision.
The main M11 Southbound lane between Junction 16 and 17 is currently closed with local diversions in place.
The services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward
