One man has been seriously injured following a road traffic crash in Co Westmeath.
The two-car collision happened on the N55 between Glasson and Athlone at around 6.30am.
One man was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore with what is believed to be serious injuries.
The road is closed for a garda forensic investigation.
Gardaí are asking motorists to avoid the area.
