Investigation under way after Dundalk house damaged in fire

An investigation is under way after a house in Dundalk, Co Louth was damaged in a fire.

The house in the Clontygora Court area caught fire after residents reportedly heard a loud bang at around 3.35am.

The five occupants of the house were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with non-life threatening injuries.

No one was injured in the incident, however the house was significantly damaged.

The scene has been preserved for a full technical examination and gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.

Gardaí are appealing for any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area of  Clontygara Court and Hoey's Lane between 3am and 4am to make the footage available to gardaí.
