A man in his 30s has been arrested following a robbery at a shop in Drogheda.
The incident happened at around 4pm when the man entered the shop on Dominic Street in the town.
It is understood he approached and threatened female staff member with what appeared to be a blood filled syringe and demand money.
Having failed get any money he took a gold necklace from the staff member before leaving the scene on foot.
Gardaí operating a Covid-19 checkpoint nearby were alerted to the incident and arrested a man shortly afterwards.
He was taken to Drogheda Garda Station where he is being held.
