Two people have been killed in separate road collisions in counties Kildare and Meath.
An elderly woman died after she was struck by a lorry in Clane, Co Kildare. It happened on Main Street in the town at around 12.30pm.
The woman, understood to be in her 80s, was taken to Naas General Hospital where was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the lorry was not injured.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Naas Garda Station on 045-884300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or any garda station.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died following a collision with a van at around 12.20pm this afternoon on the Kells Road in Navan, Co Meath.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan at a later date.
No one else was injured. A technical examination of the scene was carried out and the road has since reopened.
Gardaí want to hear from for any witnesses or road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area at the time to make it available to them.
