Two teenagers and a young man have been arrested in Dundalk after a number of burglaries were reported in the Blackrock area of Dublin.
The three were detained after a car chase along the M50 and the M1.
A fourth occupant of the vehicle is being sought. One garda suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The incident began when gardaí became suspicious of the vehicle in Tallaght and a chase ensued.
The car was abandoned on the M1 at Junction 18 and four occupants fled on foot towards fields nearby.
The two boys and a man in his 20s were arrested a short distance away.
It is believed the car involved was stolen north of the border.
The garda was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
Property from one burglary in Blackrock was recovered on the M50 by gardaí.
