Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at a post office which occurred in Clara, Co Offaly today.
Two men in balaclavas entered the post office at 9.30am with what is believed to be a firearm and a knife and threatened staff.
An amount of cash was taken and the men left the scene in a car, an 07 D registered Silver Toyota Avensis, which was later found on fire on the outskirts of the town on the Kilbeggan Road.
Gardaí believe the men left that location in a dark hatchback car.
No shots were fired and no one was physically injured during the robbery, gardaí said.
