An investigation is under way after an elderly couple were left shaken after an aggravated burglary at their house in Co Louth.
Two men, armed with a hatchet, a knife and a hammer, entered the house belonging to the couple, who are in their 80s, on Rock Road in Blackrock at around 8pm yesterday.
The couple were locked in an upstairs bedroom before the house was ransacked and a car and cash were taken.
The couple was taken to hospital and treated for shock after the ordeal.
No arrests have been made.
