A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a car hijacking in Co Meath. 

The incident happened at 5.40am on Wednesday morning in Enfield.

A woman driving a silver Renault Megane was physically pulled from the car by two men.

Her car was then driven in the direction of Kilcock, Co Kildare.

The man was arrested in Whitestown, Blanchardstown this morning, following a search operation led by detectives based in Trim, Co Meath.

He is being held for questioning at Trim Garda Station.
