Two people have been killed in separate road crashes in Co Limerick and Co Wexford.

In Limerick, a woman in her 60s was killed when the car she was driving left the road and hit a ditch at Ardpartrick at 3.30pm this afternoon.

Two girls travelling in the car, aged seven and 16, sustained minor injuries and were taken to University Hospital Limerick.

In Wexford, a man in his 50s was killed when the van he was driving collided with a truck.

The crash happened at around 7.25am at Ballymackesy.

The man who died was the only occupant of the van, while the driver of the truck was uninjured in the crash.
