A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Co Kildare that has left a woman in a serious condition in hospital.
The incident happened at Canal Bridge, Osberstown, Naas at around 8.25pm last night.
A car struck a parked car and then hit a female pedestrian.
The 51-year-old woman has been taken to Tallaght Hospital.
The car failed to stop after the collision.
An abandoned car has since been seized for a technical examination and this morning a 16-year-old boy was arrested.
The boy is being held at Naas Garda Station.
The road was closed for a forensic examination after the incident, but has since re-opened.
