A man has been arrested following an assault on another man in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford last night.
At around 11.30pm, the victim went out to check a disturbance in the yard of his home in Clongeal when he was attacked with an iron bar.
The victim was treated for head injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Shortly after the incident, gardaí arrested a man, aged in his 30s, nearby.
He has been taken to Baltinglass Garda station for questioning.
