A man, aged in his 30s, has died in a road crash on the N2 in Co Louth this morning.
At approximately 1am, the car he was driving left the road and hit a pole just south of Ardee at Mullacapple.
The man was the sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The stretch of road is closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
