Searches are under way in Carlow town for a man who attacked a woman out running.
The woman was jogging on Beech Road around 6am yesterday morning when she was attacked and sexually assaulted.
The man is described as being in his mid-30s, was 1.65m (5’ 5") tall, had sallow skin and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, grey hoodie with black sleeves and a blue beanie with red and white stripes.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and say it was a serious incident.

So far there have been no arrests.
