An improvised explosive device has been made safe in Co Carlow.
An Army Bomb Disposal team was sent to the scene at Kilmeaney at around 5pm and carried out a controlled explosion on the device.
The scene was declared safe at 6pm.
The remains of the device are being forensically examined and a garda investigation is under way.
