Three rescued from Boyne after boat overturns

Three people were rescued from the River Boyne last night after a small boat overturned.

A member of the public reported the boat at around 8pm, after they noticed that none of those onboard appeared to have life jackets. 

Clogherhead Coast Guard were notified and when they checked the situation, the three youths were found alongside upturned boat.

They were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, suffering from hypothermia.
