A woman in her 20s has died after she was struck by a car in Dublin last night.

The incident occurred on the N11 Bray Road in Loughlinstown at around 11.50pm.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, or any road users with camera footage (including dash cam) from the area last night to contact Shankill Garda Station on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.

The woman was among three people killed on the roads yesterday, after two men died in a road collision in Co Donegal.

Four other people were also injured.

Separately, a man in his 20s is in a critical condition following a single-car crash on the R238 at Ardmore, Muff, in Co Donegal, last night.

The man, who was travelling alone, was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.

The road remains closed and diversions are in place on the R238 from Muff Village via Iskaheen coming back out on the R238 at the Carmen Inn.

So far this year 62 people have been killed on Irish roads, including 18 pedestrians.
