Two men accused of dangerous driving on the M1 motorway have appeared before Drogheda District Court this morning following a fuel protest yesterday.
22-year-old Aaron Goss with an address at Ballymakellet, Ravensdale, Co Louth and 29-year-old Ryan Quinn of Dobbin Road, Richill, Co Armagh were both charged with dangerous driving on the M1 at Braganstown, Co Louth on 13 April.
Inspector Kevin Toner of Drogheda garda station gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution before Judge Nicola Andrews today.
He told the court that gardaí were called to an incident of alleged dangerous driving on the motorway at Braganstown, Castlebellingham, of such a manner that it "caused a danger to other road users".
He said the accused were arrested at 7pm.
He added there was no garda objection to bail subject to conditions including that the defendants commit "no further offence".
Defence solicitor Paddy Goodwin replied: "There's no problem with that."
Judge Nicola Andrews remanded both men on bail to appear again before Drogheda District Court on 11 May.
The two men walked out of the courthouse to applause from a small group of supporters who had gathered outside.
