A Status Yellow wind and rain warning is in place for counties Cork and Kerry.

Met Éireann said there will be very strong and gusty southwesterly winds, along with squally heavy showers or longer spells of rain, and a chance of hail and thunder.

It warned there could also be a risk of spot flooding.

It will remain in place until 8pm.

A separate Status Yellow wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo was lifted at 2pm this afternoon.

A Status Yellow thunderstorm warning in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford has also been lifted,
