Five people have been injured after a collision between a car and a van in Co Westmeath this afternoon.
The collision on the N62 at Ballinahown happened at around 1pm.
The female driver of the van, 40s, was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The male driver of the car, late teens, was conveyed to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for non-life-threatening injuries.
The car's three male passengers, 20s, also attended the same hospital for treatment.
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination with local traffic diversions in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from people with dash-cam footage from the area.
