A woman in her 20s is in a critical condition following a serious assault in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.
The woman was airlifted to hospital following the incident, which occurred on the R494 at Birdhill shortly before 5.30pm.
The scene remains preserved for a technical examination, and the road is closed with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were on the R494 between Birdhill and the M7 motorway between 5pm and 6pm, or anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam), to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
Gardaí said that investigations are ongoing.
