Motorists are being advised that travelling conditions may be difficult as Status Yellow wind and rain warnings are in effect for the entire country.
Met Éireann has said that strong and gusty southwesterly winds could lead to difficult travelling conditions, debris or loose objects displaced and fallen branches or trees.
The alert came into effect at midnight and is in place until 6pm.
Irish Ferries said some sailings between Dublin and Holyhead have been cancelled, including the 7.30am sailing from Dublin and the 1.15pm sailing from Holyhead.
Dublin Airport said the strong winds are causing some disruption to flight operations.
Eight inbound aircraft had to perform "go-arounds", while three inbound flights had to be diverted to other airports.
In a post on X, it said that wind conditions are set to remain challenging for the remainder of the morning, meaning further disruption is possible.
"As always, passengers should contact their airline directly for latest updates on the status of their flight."
A separate Yellow rain warning is in effect for 21 counties from 6am until 3pm.
The warning will cover counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow and all of Connacht.
Met Éireann said that spells of heavy rain could cause localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult conditions for travel.
It said the strongest winds today will be seen along Atlantic coasts while spells of rain will turn heavy at times with spot flooding.
A Yellow wind warning has also been issued for counties Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone by the UK Met Office.
It said that strong winds, along with heavy rain, will cause difficult travelling conditions this morning.
The alert will be in effect from 6am until midday.
Heavy rain is also forecast with spot flooding possible.
