A 27-year-old man has been charged with the sexual assault of a child in north Dublin last month.
The man, who cannot be named by law because of the nature of the charge against him, appeared before Judge Michele Finan at Dublin District Court.
He was charged with sexual assault of the girl who had been out playing with a friend on 15 February, and possessing a false Portuguese driving licence on a later date at his address in the city's north side.
The court heard that the man was a Deliveroo driver at the time the alleged sexual assault took place.
Garda Grainne Raggett told the court that the man made no reply when charged at 7.35am.
The man denies any wrongdoing.
Garda Raggett said the man, from Brazil, came to Ireland via the UK two years ago, has no immigration status here and was let go from his job as a Deliveroo driver two weeks ago.
She said the alleged sexual assault was reported to gardaí after the girl told her parents.
Judge Michele Finan refused bail.
The man was granted free legal aid and was remanded in custody at Cloverhill until he appears before the courts again on 18 March.
