A woman has died and a man is in a critical condition after a single-vehicle crash in Co Sligo overnight.
The crash occurred on the N15 at Grellagh in Castlegal at around 3.30am.
A woman in her 50s, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 50s, who was also a passenger, was brought to Sligo University Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
A man aged in his 20s, who was the driver of the car, and a teenage boy, who was a passenger, were brought to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The road had been closed for technical examination by garda forensic collision investigators and has since reopened.
The woman's body has been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.
Gardaí are appealing to road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling on the N15 at Castlegal, between Cliffoney and Tullaghan, between 3.10am and 3.40am to contact them.
