Met Éireann has issued a number of Status Yellow weather warnings for rain, wind and snow.

A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for all of Leinster, as well as counties Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.

The alert will last from 11pm tonight until 11pm tomorrow.

Met Éireann said rain falling on already saturated ground, combined with high river levels, could lead to flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

A Status Yellow wind warning for counties Dublin, Louth, Meath, Wexford and Wicklow will come into effect at 11pm tonight and will remain in place until 1pm tomorrow.

The forecaster has warned that strong and gusty winds, along with high tides, could lead to wave overtopping, fallen trees, loose debris and difficult travelling conditions.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow rain and snow warning for counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo will come into effect at 2am tomorrow morning and will remain in place until 2pm.

Heavy rain could turn to sleet and snow, which could lead to poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

In Northern Ireland, a Status Yellow ice warning for Northern Ireland expired at 10am this morning.

The UK Met Office had warned that wintry showers followed by clearing skies would lead to the risk of ice.

The fresh weather warnings for the island of Ireland follow several weeks of heavy rain, which has led to flooding in a number of areas.
