Met Éireann has issued a number of Status Yellow weather warnings for rain, wind and snow.

A Yellow wind warning for counties Dublin, Louth, Meath, Wexford and Wicklow will come into effect at 11pm tomorrow and remain in place until 1pm on Wednesday.

The forecaster has warned that strong and gusty winds, along with high tides, could lead to wave overtopping, fallen trees, loose debris and difficult travelling conditions.

A Yellow rain warning has also been issued for counties Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow.

The alert will last from 11pm tomorrow until 11pm on Wednesday.

Met Éireann said rain falling on already saturated ground, combined with high river levels, could lead to flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

On Wednesday, a Status Yellow rain and snow warning comes into effect for counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo at 2am and remains in place until 2pm that day.

Heavy rain could turn to sleet and snow, which could lead to poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has issued a yellow ice warning for Northern Ireland. The alert kicked in at 8pm this evening and lasts until 10am tomorrow.

The forecaster has warned that wintry showers followed by clearing skies will lead to the risk of ice overnight.

The fresh weather warnings follow several weeks of heavy rain, which has led to flooding in a number of areas.
