Teenager seriously injured after shooting in Ballymun

A teenager has been seriously injured during a shooting in Ballymun, Dublin this afternoon.

He was hospitalised for non-life threatening injuries after the incident in St Margaret's Park.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at around 12.35pm.

The scene has been preserved for forensic examination.

A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room established at Ballymun Garda Station.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

They have asked for anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area between 11.30am and 1.30pm to come forward.
