A 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of an 81-year-old man in Tipperary Town last September.
Sean Harding, of Marian Terrace in Tipperary Town, was previously charged with assault causing harm to Timothy 'Teddy' Murnane and with three counts of burglary.
Mr Murnane died at University Hospital Limerick last September, two days after he was found with serious injuries outside his home at St Michael's Avenue in the town.
Mr Harding was arrested at Thurles District Court this morning and charged with Mr Murnane's murder.
Detective Garda Connor Gleeson of Cashel Garda Station told the court that Mr Harding replied "no'" to the new charge.
The charge of assault causing harm was withdrawn.
Mr Harding was remanded in custody to appear again in court next Wednesday.
