A woman and a teenage boy have been seriously injured in an arson attack on a property in Finglas in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

Another woman and two teenage girls were also taken to hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.

The fire broke out at a house at Creston Avenue at around 12.45am.

One line of inquiry being pursued is that the perpetrators may have targeted the wrong home in a case of mistaken identity.

There were five people in the house at the time, the two women, who are aged in their 40s and 20s, and the three teenagers.
