A woman who was arrested in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of Daniel Aruebose, the child who went missing in north Dublin over four years ago, has been released without charge.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday morning and was held at a Dublin garda station.
She had her period of detention extended twice while in garda custody since yesterday morning, first for six hours by a superintendent, then for a final 12 hours by a chief superintendent.
Specialist garda interviewers questioned her about the disappearance and suspected murder of Daniel and also formally under caution put evidence they had gathered in the investigation to her.
The boy was last seen alive at his home at The Gallery apartments in Donabate in north Dublin over four-and-a-half years ago when he was just three years old.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and was the first person to be detained as part of the investigation which was upgraded to a case of homicide 11 days ago.
She was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act but was released without charge this morning.
Gardaí said a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
