The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning €17m EuroMillions ticket from Friday was sold in Cavan.
The winning ticket was purchased in a retail store in Cavan, with the exact location set to be announced on Tuesday.
This is the second Irish EuroMillions jackpot win this year after a player won €250m in June.
It also marks Cavan’s second millionaire in two weeks, following a Daily Million top prize won on 30 November.
The numbers in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw were: 7, 25, 30, 37, 41 and the Lucky Stars were 5 and 11.
National Lottery spokesperson, Darragh O’Dwyer said: "This incredible win comes at a special time of year and is sure to be a huge Christmas surprise for the winner."
"We’re asking all Cavan players to check their tickets very carefully and, if you are the winner, sign the back of your ticket and keep it safe," he said.
"Our claims team is ready to guide you through the claiming process, and we’ll announce the store location on Tuesday."
The latest EuroMillions winner is also being advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it secure.
They are being asked to contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit the Winners Room at Lottery HQ.
