Infant boy dies following collision in Co Louth

An infant boy has died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a collision in Co Louth on Saturday.

The two-car road traffic collision occurred on the R132 at Dowdallshill in Dundalk.

The infant boy, a passenger in one of the cars, has since died at Children's Health Ireland, Temple Street.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R132 in the Dowdallshill area between 7:50pm and 8:20pm last Saturday are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
