An infant boy is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision in Dundalk last night.
The two-car collision happened on the R132 at Dowdallshill in Dundalk at about 8.20pm yesterday evening.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the crash.
The female driver of the first car, aged in her late 20s, was taken from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with non-life-threatening injuries.
The infant boy, who was a passenger in the same car, was taken to Temple Street Children's University Hospital where gardaí say he remains in a critical condition.
A man in his 50s who was driving the second vehicle and a teenage girl, who was a passenger in the car, were both taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with non-life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed off earlier for forensic collision investigators to examine the scene.
