Tommy Meskill has been announced as the new co-presenter of RTÉ's Six One News.
The move comes after several months of changes and some high-profile departures from the presenter line-up at the national broadcaster.
RTÉ has also said that Sarah McInerney and Justin McCarthy will join the Morning Ireland team, while Paul Cunningham takes the helm at This Week.
Mr Meskill, the current London Correspondent, will join Sharon Tobin on the Six One News later this month, taking up the role previously held by David McCullagh.
He said it is a huge honour to take on the role, saying the programme plays "a crucial role in shaping the news agenda in Ireland".
"Its strength depends on the work of almost the entire newsroom, which is why it's such a cherished part of what we do," Mr Meskill said.
"I'm really looking forward to getting started and being part of a programme that continues to bring accurate, engaging and trusted news to our audience."
There were changes to the Morning Ireland line up in recent months, when Mary Wilson and Áine Lawlor left the programme.
RTÉ said that Ms McInerney will begin on Morning Ireland on Radio 1 in the coming weeks, while Mr McCarthy will be continuing now as a permanent presenter on the programme.
Ms McInerney presents Prime Time on RTÉ One every Tuesday and formerly co-hosted Drivetime on RTÉ Radio 1.
She said that Morning Ireland is "Ireland's number one radio programme for a reason", as it "sets the agenda for the day and reaches people right across the country".
"It’s a privilege to join such a strong team and to work on a programme with that kind of impact," Ms McInerney said.
Mr McCarthy joined Morning Ireland as a reporter in 2013 and began presenting This Week in 2018.
"I look forward to working with an excellent team to continue delivering the insightful, fair, and rigorous journalism that Morning Ireland listeners rightly expect," he said.
Paul Cunningham has been Political Correspondent with RTÉ News for the past seven years. He previously held the role of programme editor of The Week in Politics and has worked as both Europe Correspondent based in Brussels and Environment Correspondent for 10 years with RTÉ News.
"I'm delighted to get the opportunity to present Ireland's longest running radio news programme, which sets the agenda every Sunday," he said.
"Over the past 20 years I've presented across the radio news schedule, co-hosting This Week with brilliant journalists such as the late Gerald Barry. I’m very much looking forward to new challenges ahead, working with the team."
The announcement comes after RTÉ Radio 1's schedule change in October, following the departure of Claire Byrne and Ray D'Arcy.
Opportunities regarding new postings for London Correspondent and a Political Correspondent will be advertised internally shortly for current staff to apply for, the broadcaster said.

Presenter announcements come after high-profile departures
The confirmation of the four presenters joining RTÉ News radio and TV programmes comes after much speculation in the wake of a series of departures of high-profile broadcasters in recent months.
The latest series of moves first started in the summer, when RTÉ confirmed that then Six One presenter David McCullagh was taking over the helm of the Today programme on Radio 1 following Claire Byrne's move to Newstalk.
With his departure, this meant the Six One, which is a key programme for the broadcaster, would be seeking a new co-presenter to join Sharon Tobin.
Then in September, veteran broadcaster Mary Wilson announced her retirement from Morning Ireland, with her fellow presenter Áine Lawlor confirming a move away from the programme to focus on The Week In Politics TV programme, the RTÉ Your Politics podcast and other projects.
That meant Morning Ireland was going to have a change in line-up too.
Then came the RTÉ Radio 1 schedule changes, launched in November, which saw the departure of Sarah McInerney from Drivetime.
So, today marks another chapter in the RTÉ Newsroom, with the confirmation that Ms McInerney will now be moving over to join the Morning Ireland team.
Presenter of This Week Justin McCarthy is also on the move and has now been officially confirmed as one of the Morning Ireland hosts.
The new line-up now sees Ms McInerney and Mr McCarthy joining Audrey Carville and Gavin Jennings on the flagship show.
Paul Cunningham swaps Leinster House for the This Week studio to take over from Mr McCarthy and he joins Fran McNulty and others on the podcast presenting team of the popular Behind the Story too.
For Tommy Meskill, today's announcement marks his return from the UK as London Correspondent to RTÉ HQ in Dublin.
So now a new round of speculation begins.
Who will replace Mr Meskill in London as he goes to the Six One News and who will join Micheál Lehane in Leinster House and take the place of Mr Cunningham?
But for now, the four presenters will be looking forward to getting started in their new roles.
