Post-mortem examination due on body found outside Louth house

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later today on the body of a man who was found outside a house in Co Louth.

The body of the man, who was aged in his 30s, was found outside a property at Dúiche Roden in Dundalk town just after 8am yesterday.

Gardaí attended the scene and the body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Gardai have said the results of the examination will determine the course of their investigation.

A technical examination of the scene has also been conducted.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or anyone who may have camera footage from the Dúiche Roden or Demesne Road areas during the period of Wednesday into Thursday morning to contact them.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation.

An incident room has also been set up at Dundalk Garda Station.
