The Government's new housing plan has pledged that a minimum of 300,000 new homes will be built by 2030.
90,000 starter homes are also promised, as well as the delivery of 72,000 social homes.
RTÉ News spoke to members of the public in Dundalk, Co Louth following the publication of the housing plan, and asked them to share their thoughts on the possibility of owning a home.
