A man, aged in his late teens, has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 29-year-old man in Kildare town last month.
Ryan Gibbons was found unresponsive on Magee Terrace on the Dublin Road at approximately 3.15am on Sunday 26 October after being assaulted.
He was taken to Naas General Hospital where he died a few days later.
This morning, gardaí arrested a man in connection with the investigation on suspicion of murder.
He is being held at a garda station in the Kildare area.
Gardaí launched a murder investigation after a post-mortem examination was conducted.
They have appealed for witnesses and are asking anyone who was in the Dublin Road area between 2am and 4am on Sunday to contact them.
